WELCOME TO KNOX COUNTY...

Knox County is located about an hour northeast of Columbus, the capital of Ohio. Home to 22 townships and over 54,000 people, Knox County offers countless opportunities to visitors and residents alike.

Knox County’s seat is Mount Vernon. The county also has seven villages, four village-like communities, five high schools and three institutions of higher learning. Farming and manufacturing are the strongest industries in the county. At the northeast corner of the county, visitors can find a strong community of Amish families. Three lakes have been constructed in Knox County, and several waterways flow through the county.
